Friday Talk • Chandigarh College of Architecture

We had the opportunity to conduct an interactive session at the Chandigarh College of Architecture, where Diggvijay addressed students on key principles that shape an architect’s professional journey.

  • 1. Technical Mastery

Building speed, accuracy, and confidence by going deep into software, learning shortcuts, automation, and staying updated with evolving tools.

  • 2. Execution Discipline

Understanding that design is only a part of the process — real project success comes from timelines, coordination, follow-ups, and on-site clarity.

  • 3. Design Reasoning

Making choices based on logic, materials, function, and context rather than trends, and developing the ability to justify every design decision.

  • 4. Professional Mindset

Transitioning from being a student to becoming a responsible professional who is proactive, communicative, and committed to growth.

  • 5. Real-Life Experience, Industry Insights & Bridging the Gap

Diggvijay shared lessons from his own professional journey — from early career challenges to on-site problem-solving — and clarified the difference between classroom learning and real-world practice. He explained how timelines, detailing, accountability, communication, client expectations, and execution pressures shape the profession far more intensely than what academics typically prepare students for.

The session created a space for open discussion, questions, and real-world clarity. Engaging with the students and sharing firsthand experiences made this interaction memorable and meaningful — a reminder of how essential it is to bridge education with practice.
