PROJECT DEMANDS
This project was very delicate in terms of the feelings of the client attached to the structure. It demanded transforming a nostalgic home from the 1960s into a harmonious blend of South Indian artistry and modern functionality. We were to work our way through intricate woodwork, restored heritage furniture, and a balanced layout incorporating Vastu principles while honouring family traditions and personal preferences of two dental surgeons with a passion for design.
CLIENT’S VISION
A home that celebrates South Indian craftsmanship, with stone and fabrics creating an earthy, traditional vibe. The clients wanted new-age utilities for hosting their guests and privacy for the family, and they also wanted spaces to retain their ancestral love—embodying the rich history of the house while meeting contemporary living standards for their multi-generational family.

This project was like restoring a classic painting while adding minute touches that embraced the antiquity. An existing narrow staircase, misaligned layouts, and limited bathrooms challenged both form and functionality. We were to reserve sentimental furniture and structures while incorporating modern design, which added layers of complexity.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
Our client wanted to stick to family values, so we did exactly that. From restoring heirloom wood for panelling to widening staircases with brass railings, every corner had a blessing for the client. Spaces like the den and terrace were designed for versatility, while intricate details like repurposed Deodar and Sabyasachi wallpapers added a charming character. Every inch of this residential space blends heritage with modernity, creating a timeless home.
This floor plan revives a 1960s gem with Southern elegance and contemporary functionality. From Vastu-aligned layouts to repurposed heritage woodwork, every detail reflects our commitment to family values and timeless design.
